This is the easiest, most clever, and BEST bobbin storage idea ever!
I do not sew a lot (though you would not be able to tell that my by fabric stash), but it does not mean I do not like to be prepared.
And by prepared I mean I want to have every color of thread possible available when the sewing bug strikes.
Please tell me I’m not alone in this?
For the longest time I kept all my spools and bobbins stashed in a box, which was a complete pain to sort through when I needed them.
Not to mention trying to match the bobbins to the threads of spool.
I needed to come up with the best bobbin storage idea for my craft space.
You guys!! Do you ever have an idea and think it is sheer genius?
Then you think about it more and think maybe it’s more of a “duh” moment.
That is so me with this bobbin and thread storage idea!
When I first shared this idea in 2015, I had not seen it anywhere online.
Could I actually be the first???
Probably not, but maybe the first to publish it.
BEST Bobbin Storage
I really wanted to store each bobbin WITH the spool of thread it goes with.
I mean, it only makes sense, right??
I purchased one of these wooden spool holders (affiliate link) that holds 60 spools of threads and was going to find a way to rig it to do just that.
Then I realized I could store the bobbins under the matching spools.
The prongs are plenty long enough to hold a bobbin and thread.
Genius? Or great big DUH?
You can decide for yourself, but the method is spectacular regardless.
And that’s why I call it the BEST Bobbin Storage EVER!
If you look to the top right in this photo, you can see how I store the entire spool rack in my craft space.
I used 3M Velcro Strips (affiliate link) to the back and it hangs on a metal shelf right next to my peg board.
This puts the rack up off of my much coveted table space and still within easy reach when I need the threads and bobbins.
This is definitely the best bobbin storage to keep your threads and matching bobbins together.
It’s so simply it’s silly, right?
Now I’m off to pat myself on the back and see what other genius (or duh!) ideas I can come up with.
Eight years later I am still using this method, so I must be doing something right.
How do you store your bobbins??

Ever so clever! I use Bobbin Savers and hang them on a peg hook in my sewing room. :)

Great idea - now to move all my bobbins to a storage like this and get rid of all those boxes. Thank you for sharing at Share It One More Time. Cathy
