Not sure what to get that scrapbooker friend in your life?
I’m here to help!
I have a fun and simple gift that doesn’t even need to be wrapped!
All of these items will fit nicely inside of a dressed up Mason jar.
And won’t they be surprised that you knew just what to pull together to make the gift happen.
In fact, some of my friends got together and put together a plethora of themes for gifts in jars.
Be sure to check them out at the end of this post to help you with your gift in a jar giving!
Gift in a Jar for Scrapbookers: The Jar
Let’s start with the jar itself for our scrapbooking friend.
I selected a wide-mouth quart Mason jar so I could easily fit everything inside.
And I went with one of the colored jars (green, in this case) simply to fancy up the packaging.
You could also use one of the purple, blue, or non-colored jars, but I still recommend going with the wide-mouth.
I replaced the lid with a fancy one I found at Joann’s, but you can also use my faux knob tutorial to dress up the original lid.
I also wrapped lace around the side of the lid.
Gift in a Jar for Scrapbookers: The Supplies
Now, let’s talk about what goes inside.
Embellishments will get you everywhere with a scrapbooker!
One can never, ever have too many scrapbook embellishments.
Stocking up on a few of those that will fit inside a mason jar is a great start.
Any good scrabooker also needs some basic supplies, which they are always running out of.
You can’t go wrong with some good adhesives, small scissors, and a journaling pen.
To further break down the inside of the jar:
washi tape -> one can never have enough washi tape!
buttons -> versatile embellishment, place in a tube for presentation purposes
Elmer’s Craft Bond Glue Pen -> a good wet adhesive is a must
Zig Marker (black) -> best journaling pen around!
glitter -> everything goes with glitter
journaling tags -> pairs well with the journaling pen
Insta-Album -> anyone can make these! even you!
Super Tape -> best and stickiest dry adhesive around
bow stickers -> something cute!
ribbon -> wrap strips of ribbon around little spools to dress them up
Precision Scissors -> these scissors get used a LOT you can go wrong with getting a new pair
To dress up the jar you can simply wrap it with a piece of decorative scrapbook paper and tape it together in the back.
Just grab a piece of loose 12×12 paper at the craft store.
If you want to take it a bit further, you can dress up the jar a little more.
I used a solid piece of cardstock, paper lace, and a paper doily as the base then built upon that with items I scavenged from my own scrapbook stash: a few embellishments, layered paper flowers, stickers, rub-ons, and a little bling.
I love how it turned out! It doesn’t even need to be wrapped though you can if you want to.
Would you give this gift in a jar for scrapbookers to your favorite paper crafter?
