This DIY Pikachu shirt is so fun for your favorite Pokemon fan and is made with heat transfer vinyl. No cutting machine needed!
I have two little boys, ages 8 and 5, and they are completely and helplessly obsessed with all things Pokémon!
Not the new game Pokémon Go, but the old school card game that’s been around since the 90’s.
Isn’t it crazy how some things just hang around?
I missed the Pokémon phenomena by a few years so I don’t know much about it.
My boys have been educating me.
And my oldest just had a birthday and his party is coming up this weekend.
Guess the theme? Yep, you guessed it. Pokémon!
To celebrate I made him his very own Pikachu shirt, and it cost WAY less than the character tees you buy in store.
(Get your heat transfer vinyl at Expressions Vinyl (affiliate link))
In fact, I made a little video to show you just how easy it is to make!
So simple, right?
And, as you can see, not cutting machine needed.
You can cut all the shapes with a pair of scissors.
I did use a circle cutter for the eyes and cheeks to get them perfectly round.
For the eyes, I also used a hole punch to get those little “eye sparkles” that anime characters have.
My little guy was super excited to wear his new DIY Pikachu shirt!
It will be perfect to wear to his Pokémon birthday party this weekend.
Speaking of which, I better get back to work on that!

This looks great, and nice not to need an expensive machine to make it. I can't believe how many older people are into the pokemon go thing, it seems mostly 15 - 25's who I see sitting about with their phones out all over the place , I guess it appeals more to those who can afford dataplans on their phones!

My boys would love this! We just made Minecraft t-shirts and painted a portrait of Pikachu but I had not thought of a Pikachu t-shirt. Pinned!
