Signs are such an easy way to add a new element to your home decor. And the options for the way they look and what they say are endless! You can have sweet family-themed sign, or snarky, funny messages. Or even a sign that is a picture like the state you live in – no words!

I was looking for a new addition for my entryway walls, and I knew a new sign was the way to go. I needed it to fit a certain space so I also knew I needed to DIY my own frame. I wanted it a little sweet and a little fun so I used a nice little family and friends quote and threw in some trendy metallic polka dots for the fun.

I love the heavy metal adhesive vinyl from Expressions Vinyl. It can really shine in just the right light. Like, say, the sun coming in my front door in the late afternoon!

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out 7/8″ and 1/2″ circles in the Royal Blue heavy metal vinyl. If you have a circle cutter or circle punch you could definitely use those instead of a machine. Or even cut by hand. The Silhouette makes the job faster but isn’t a necessity for this project.

The HOME quote is a fun greeting for family and friends that come over and walk through our entryway. You can download it to use, too, if you like.

I used a 3/4″x3/4″ stick trimmed to size for the edges of the frame and nailed them together. Then I used scrap planks from our wood stash to create the backing. They are also simply nailed to the back of the frame. Easy peasy!
