Go glam on New Year’s with a festive and glitzy wreath!
I love making wreaths. They are such a simple way to add instant decor to a room and can be added to anything from a door, to a wall, to a mantel. I can barely believe that I don’t have a New Year’s wreath! That will be remedied today.
I admit I’m not one to go all out with New Year’s decor, but I do love to throw little bits into the Christmas decor which is inevitably still up on December 31st. So this fun and glitzy New Year’s wreath adds in a little holiday fun with glittery ornaments!
Supplies:
Wreath form
1/2 yard festive gold fabric
Clear plastic ornaments
Gold ribbon
Gold and silver glitter
First up, cut the fabric into ~2 1/2″ strips. Length doesn’t matter, but the longer the fewer strip you will need.
Wrap the wreath with the fabric strips, overlapping as you go. I left the ends raw with this gold confetti fabric, but if your edges look a little too raw and frayed then you can simply fold the edge of the fabric that will be showing to make it look better.
Pin (or glue) the strips in place on the back of the wreath form.
Use a funnel, or make one from a piece of paper, and add a few scoops of the gold glitter and a couple of the silver to each ornament. I like the chunky glitter for this because it is easier to see in the ornaments. Replace the lid on the ornament and give it a good shake. Some of the glitter will stick to the sides.
Thread strips of the gold ribbon through the tops of the ornaments and pin in place inside the top of the wreath. Vary the lengths of the ribbon.
Now let’s make a bow for the top of the wreath.
Cut two strips from the remaining fabric: 1) 6×20″ and 2) 2×20″
Lay the larger strip face down on your work surface and fold each long side over about 1/3 of the way.
Fold the long ends towards the center of the strip.
Pinch the middle and wrap the remaining strip of fabric around the center. Close with a pin or glue.
Pin the bow in place at the top of the wreath.
Isn’t it festive? And still a little Christmas-y to go with the other holiday decor I will still have up.
So tell me, do you decorate for New Year’s?

I was thinking, (plastic) champagne glasses with several of the balls in them(bubbles) would be so cute with this! If---lol, I have a New Year's Party, I will have to do this.
